That's great! It will definitely increase the awesomeness of the Wiki.

Pizzo is being worked on by Gorski, an attorney not thought of too highly on this forum. They'd like him to be stayed indefinitely to avoid screwing anything up.

I'd appreciate it if someone could edit the page design of the forum to include a link to the wiki. I know of another vBulletin forum that has done that.

Thanks for the complements on the page. I wanted us to have something of an executive dashboard to refer to to at a glance and know the status of the lawsuits. There are at least four individuals who maintaining the page.

I have a couple of improvements that I'd like to make which will make it much easier for everyone to know if a particular case will impact California.

It's the formatting of the cell. All text is formatted to be "centered" in the cells.

            Thanks for the feedback.

Peruta isn't done. I'll change the waiting status soon though.

I will not add a Gorski case to the wiki unless told to do so. From all that I have read and been told by other firearms lawyers, he is outright hostile to CGF and many others in the pro-gun movement.

Awesome Crom, please consider adding a timeframe if possible for cases that have one. A quick reference would be great, I like to know what is coming up so i can watch for updates. Examples would be "Possibly between Dec 3-17", "Q1 2010", "Hearing Jan. 12".

Just looking at that page is great and getting a summary and adding a date for the next milestone in each case would be great.

I understand your position, but personally, I'd rather see all relevant cases whether or not I find the associated individuals to be of sterling character, intellect, or wisdom. If a case is not relevant, I don't really want to see it even if the involved individual(s) are worthy of worship.

Maybe there might be a way to label a listed case as a likely big screw-up?

It's a patrolled wiki - I'll guarantee anything off topic disappears.

That doesn't seem the case with OleCuss's proposal, but I have a very strong preference for that kind of info to remain here, and leave the wiki pages for status and results -- with links back here to discussion threads.

A final opinion is the most eloquent form of "I told you so", for varying applications of "you".

Frozen in 2015, it is falling out of date and I can no longer edit the content. But much of it is still good!

I was refereeing to adding pertinent cases. Naturally off topic stuff doesn't belong there.

Some of what you're requesting is already achieved by clicking on the case name. The cases affecting California have full blown wiki pages dedicated to them. They are complete works listing past events, and usually have a header titled "FUTURE EVENTS", with one or two events to occur in the future.

The hope is that if someone is interested on a case they visit the table and then drill down on a case of interest and read up on current filings or future events.

For litigation of interest but outside California the trend has been to link to other pro-gun lawsuit websites that are maintaining those cases on their own external websites, like the post-office case and the Montana Firearms Freedom Act case. This has a major convenience factor since there is no need to duplicate the work of others.

I will say too that, post-McDonald the rate of filings has increased dramatically.

I like to think what makes a case interesting are the arguments brought before the court and not so much the person making them. However personalities are a factor. For example, all federal cases that assert a right-to-carry are of profound interest because they seek to expand the Second Amendment right. For all intents and purposes this is exploratory litigation. I find it absolutely fascinating.

The Wiki of cases has evolved over time. Initially I think it was done to keep track of CGF cases, and then cases of interest or important, and then some case law added.

I can also tell you that the Gorski cases are watched and filings are monitored. If something is going to go down, someone will create a thread to discuss the issues or causality of actions.

Regardless, your point has been made. I'll ask the Sr. Wiki maintainers their opinions and then see what CGF says. It's their website after all and I am the newest geek on the block.

                        Thanks.
