    Finger Printed Today

I was talking to the LT who was printing me today, and we were talking about the process. He said he too had to get a CCW, and he thought the SB Sheriff was wrong on that, stating that he believed current LEO were covered by other statutes that they didn't need a CCW.

Anyway when I commented on how long the process was taking, he told me that he finished the class last DEC, and just received his CCW this NOV. Man, these guys are really dragging out the process.

Good news is that new sheriff Thompson returned my email and told me to hunt him down next week.

Sounds like an agency deal, federal law states any sworn full time LEO can carry concealed anywhere in the USA.

The others, well......they just never learn.

Unless....he was a reseve LT. Bigger depts have reseves up to and maybe higher then Captains. Reserves need a permit, but theirs are good for 4 years.

I don't think so, he was in plain cloths out at the jail, aren't most reserves usually in uniform?

Typical yes; required no. In all the years I was a reserve I only wore a uniform maybe half the time.
