Sorry for putting you on the spot, but- if the passage of legislation prohibiting the last remaining element of California open carry is 100% assured, then there is no reason to discourage the use of UOC as a political demonstration, is there?

Sometimes the law defends plunder and participates in it. Sometimes the law places the whole apparatus of judges, police, prisons and gendarmes at the service of the plunderers, and treats the victim -- when he defends himself -- as a criminal. Bastiat

Yes, because there is other damage that using guns as speech can bring about beyond the out lawing of guns as speech.

This will all become moot as the UOC ban is going to sail through the legislature this year.

I beg to differ on small point...the title of this thread is "12050 License and LOC"

But even if a UOC ban goes thru, if substantial concealment with a permit meets the criteria of concealed then wouldn't loaded carry in an IWB holster with no cover shirt essentially be LOC?

Yes but I'm not sure why upping the odds of passage from 90% to 99% is a fun idea.

Yes, however we'll see if the new bill picks up on this problem or not.

I think, however, that this is better political messaging:

I've also seen T-shirts with a silkscreen of the firearm right where you're otherwise carrying. Those would be a lot of fun...

That one's $35. What we really need is these with metallic ink for the guns, to wear to airports.

Or just use metallic ink to screen the 4th amendment underneath the gun.

Have to admit, not original to me. Spy movie/book - one of the Bonds? - in an airport, Our Hero was trying to lose a tail, so he bought a present for the little kid accompanying her. Cut out the silhouette of a pistol from metallic paper, hid it between layers of colored tissue paper in the box with the present. Little delay for woman and child while agents see gun on x-ray but can't find it in the box. Our Hero flies away.

Thank you Untamed...yes I was asking about LOC not UOC, but I view the two as sort of somehow related so it's not a complete thread jack.

Correction. I believe that case law has said that partially concealed=concealed. which would tend to mean that an IWB holster with no cover would be considered CC, and as such would comply with the terms of a CCW. But I'm sure if the sheriff gets wind of it, he'll just revoke your permit anyway.

Isn't this considered a good thing by some? I mean, won't it make our court battles that much easier? Because then the antis can't argue that we already have an option to carry available to us... County counsel in the PERUTA case really hammered on that point.
