Transporting through a school zone

What is the requirement for transporting a hunting rifle (non AW, non handgun) through a school zone? Also does ammo need to be locked up when transporting through a school zone?

Per the federal GFSZ law, the rifle must be unloaded and inside a locked container or locked into a gun rack on a motor vehicle:

There is no requirement that your ammo be locked up. You can keep the ammo anywhere you like, other than in the gun.
