CGF v. Ventura, Carry Reform Initiative in the News

Tammy Wu at Camarillo 365 recently published a piece on carry license issuance in Ventura and our lawsuit challenging Sheriff Bob Brooks' illegal withholding of public records. You can read the article in its entirety here.

Very unbiased article. If I am not mistaken, it made us sound like Non Crazy gun owners. It shall be added to the CGN Facebook page for everyone's viewing pleasure. Thanks Brandon.

I honestly can not, for the life of me, keep track of all these counties, and whats going on with them! By far the best part of the article is the mention of the CalGuns Foundation asking for info from all 58 Counties. What can possibly be going thru the minds of those no-issue Counties who know damn well, that they have been doing things illegally??

You must remember...there are many of the 58 Sheriffs in California who believe they are allowed to interpret the law any way they see fit. That policy trickles down to the deputies on the streets and quickly becomes institutionalized within departments.

Very good point. When the changes happen, I am sure they will all have classes for the LEO's to clear up any confusion.

One advantage of suing under the PRA is that media regularly use PRA requests int heir own investigations into government corruption. Even media that is not "pro-gun" will likely side against governmental obstructionism

CLEOs have been told for years (50+) that one of the perks of the position is one of the many, "It's your call" benefits of the job.

Sandra Hutchens <--- Don't tell her it's not, you may find yourself in a jail cell.

Hutchens said, "... the state law is clear that concealed weapons are not legal. Exceptions are just that,...." she told supervisors

Please make it a priority to have Hutchens and Smith in jail or heavily fined.
