Suprisingly, another one of Brady Campaign's Warnings Falls Flat

We've all seen this lovely billboard that the Brady Campaign posted in Florida.

Along with it, came this beautiful ad:

Apparently, the dire warnings of the Brady brain trust over didn't exactly come to fruition.

When Florida's so-called "stand-your-ground law" took effect in 2005, a well-known anti-gun organization started issuing scary warnings to tourists.

The Brady Campaign Against Gun Violence advised Florida's visitors to avoid arguments with the locals, lest they be gunned down by a populace now free to pull the trigger whenever anyone made them feel nervous.

    ...

There was no spike in murders disguised as self-defense that year, but statistics since then can be debated. Some measures do show a significant increase in shootings labeled self-defense. And yet, I have not heard of one that struck me as a case where a shooter would and should have been sent to prison under the old law, but had charges dismissed or never filed thanks to the new one.

    <snip>
Much like the Antis warnings of shootouts over parking spaces, violent gunfights in movie theatres and general "Dodge City" mayhem, Florida's crime rate continues to fall, just like the crime rate of the other 39 States who have legislated Shall Issue Concealed Carry. 1.6 million Floridians with CCW permits - crime rates fall.

You'd think, with all that money, that Paul Helmke would be able to buy a clue.
Rest in Peace - Andrew Breitbart. A true student of Alinsky.

90% of winning is simply showing up.

who the hell continues to fund these clowns?

    does anyone know?

is there thousands of people donating money to the brady's? or is it a few millionaires like Bloomberg who donate several million a year
LOL, what a waste of their money

Last I recall, the Brady campaign was something like 300K a year under on average, but receive major funding by Bloomberg, and the Mayors against illegal guns group...another one of their fails. But I am going to have to you on this one

Obviously the Brady campaign to warn visitors of the armed nervous (itchy trigger fingered) Floridians with guns is to thank for not seeing the streets run red.

BTW, got my non resident FL CCW permit all filled out. Waiting for the finger print card to come in the mail.

I like the top one. I wonder if it lowers the crime rate in the area.

Kind of a reminder for criminals that Florida residents may shoot back if threatened.

          Thank you Brady.

I'd love to have these signs on all of our borders, that would be a step in the right direction IMHO!

Our signs should be drawn by somebody who knows what a pistol bullet looks like, though.

This info is suspect, I see no mention of any sad panda.
No government deprives its citizens of rights without asserting that its actions are "reasonable" and "necessary" for high-sounding reasons such as "public safety."
A right that can be regulated is no right at all, only a temporary privilege dependent upon the good will of the very government
officials that such right is designed to constrain.

Anybody ever hear the radio commercials in Alaska about their armed citizens? It's pro gun and warns potential criminals that Alaskans carry guns, and that they will use them. It played every hour when I was there last(06'). That's why they can leave their cars running while in the store and not worry about. People stealing them, etc etc.

I wonder how many criminals decided to vacation in California instead of Florida after seeing these signs??? It would be an interesting stat. if one could figure out how to conduct an accurate poll.

Those circles are GPS tracking the Brady bunch.
