How do you politely mention to the guy next to you at the rifle range that his rifle

How do you politely mention to the guy next to YOU at the rifle range that he converted his cali legal rifle into an Assault Weapon?

I'll leave details out so moderators don't flag and delete this, but I will say this DID NOT happen to me on Sunday... :/

Just so I'm sure... a mini14 with a collapsible stock and pistol grip would change a standard rifle into an assault rifle per cali laws?

let them worry about it on their own?
      are you law enforcement?
Is it a registered asault weapon?

I would tend to let people do as they want, Freedom should allow it......

could be a registered assault weapon. Why not just MYOB and don't worry about it.

Maybe its registered? Personaly, I have had similar occurances happen when I have been out shooting. I am firmly in the belief that the AW laws of this state are silly. They do not protect anybody. All they do is make it a PITA to be legal. So with that in mind, if the guy wants his rifle that way, or I may believe that it is registered, I MYOB.

Wow, you guys type fast.....4 responses while I was hunting and pecking.

Stupid people don't know they are stupid. Because they are stupid. They will follow evil geniuses and do their bidding, because they are stupid.

Really super stupid people look up to, and follow stupid people like they were geniuses, because to them, they are. Unfortunately the reality of it is, that doesn't make stupid people any smarter.

That right there is the root cause to most problems in the world.

MYOB, it could be a legally registered AW.

Introduce yourself, ask him if he is familiar with CGN, offer some CGF literature (flow chart), complement him on his nice rifle, and continue on your way.

MYOB is all good and well but some people make mistakes and would appreciate information that can keep their asses out of the slammer.

that being the case, i cant tell you i have had people come up to me with a real bad additude making accusations with little or no relivent information to back it up.

just saying "hey, its none of my business but i wanted to mention that unless that thing is registered as an assault weapon, its not CA legal, and i would hate to see you get in trouble needlessly."

is a lot different then "dude, if you dont fix that mini14 your dumb *** is gonna get thrown in the big house."

being a casual shooter, i dont mind when people ask me if my AR is legal. or more typically, how its legal.

If the shooter is being safe, I could care less what they are shooting.

MYOB and STFU. You don't want to pi$$ someone off.

If you really want to talk to someone shooting what you might do is hand them a packet with the flowcharts and an invitation to join CGN.
