The elections are over and now most people are now going on to other things.
The next 6 to 9 months may be the best time to meet with elected officials, especially on the local level.
People who run for office have things they would like to get done, not everyone is a self centered will do anything to get elected ***hole.
We need things, they need things. If we help them, they will help us.
The hard part for us of course will be dealing with people who are openly against us because that will mean we will have to trully be high roaders.
It is the local level where we will have issues with gun stores, ranges, CCW permits and how self defense shootings are dealt with in the courts.
Looking at my NRA voter guide in the American Rifleman, there was nothing in my voter guide on local races.
Most of our stupid gun laws here in Ca started out as local proposals.
The fact that we have state pre emption didn't stop cities/counties from trying.
This forum has spawned the Calguns foundation which will soon be regarded not as a 800 pound gorilla, but King Kong in the court system.
The next natural phase is the political. Right now we have 15K plus and growing active members and it appears we are growing in size 50 percent annually.
Our growth may significantly increase with court wins and that means for the 2012 election cycle, we could have 50 to 100k active members.
We are unique and have our individual strengths. Together we can get back not just our gun rights, but others as well.
Yes, we had setbacks in California in this election, but if we plant our seeds and lay our groundwork 2012 will be the end of the world for our opponents.
