And then there will be 44 Open Carry States!
False is the idea of utility that sacrifices a thousand real advantages for one imaginary or trifling inconvenience; that would take fire from men because it burns, and water because one may drown in it; that has no remedy for evils except destruction. The laws that forbid the carrying of arms are laws of such a nature. They disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes.

IMHO Oklahoma is rapidly becoming the free-est state in the country. Given their very low property taxes, OK is rapidly rising on my short list of PRK escape destinations.

As California goes so goes the rest of the country....NOT! I really miss living in a free state, looking forward to living in one again in a few years, I hope.

Good move on the Governor's part.
People don't like to be meddled with. We tell them what to do, what to think, don't run, don't walk. We're in their homes and in their heads and we haven't the right. We're meddlesome.

I'm coming to appreciate the wisdom of Oklahomans, who just banned use of biblical law in the State's court system.

          Pretty smart, those Okies.
Oklahoma voters may have accidentally outlawed the 10 Commandments

It looks like voters in Oklahoma just ratified the law of unintended consequences.

Lawmakers in the Sooner State put a constitutional amendment banning the application of Islamic law by Oklahoma courts on the ballot for Tuesday's election.

But the amendment, which also banned the use of international law in judicial decision-making, might force Oklahoma judges to ignore all laws that were conceived on foreign soil, including the 10 Commandments.

"I would like to see Oklahoma politicians explain if this means that the courts can no longer consider the Ten Commandments. Isn't that a precept of another culture and another nation?" said a University of Oklahoma law professor. "The result of this is that judges aren't going to know when and how they can look at sources of American law that were international law in origin. Many of us who understand the law are scratching our heads this morning, laughing so we don't cry."

The 10 Commandments(or I guess a portion) are already incorporated into our laws and precedents. I don't see how that changes. The foreign law ban could become an issue in the case of a custody dispute or some weird situation which our laws have not addressed.

ALL religious laws should be ignored but any US courts.

Oklahoma is OK. Very beautiful place actually. Now there's yet another reason to visit. Looks like I'm going to have to get a new holster. Difficult to open carry with an IWB.

I know ... all that "thou shall not murder", "thall shall not steal", "thall shall not bear false witness" stuff ... what are those crazy religious extremists thinkng? We should probably do away with all those "inalienable rights" with which we are "endowed by our Creator" too.

All that "Nature's God", "Divine Providence" and "Supreme Judge of the world" nonsense in the Declaration of Independence has to go while we're at it ... such irrational religious nonsense I tell you! /sarcasm

Almost all law has it's basis is religion somewhere back in history. You really should think a bit more ... and read a lot more ... before making comments like the one quoted.

Oh come now, there's more than just that in the Bible. There's some extreme stuff as well. It's a good thing they did there in Oklahoma.

Btw, love your youtube stuff, really good videos. Didn't put two and two together to realize that you were on this forum till just now, 'cause I'z smurt like dat.

"Endowed by our Creator" one of my favorite quotes and OK law is safer from sharia, good for em.

Lets not thread drift into a religious debate and get locked up OK?

I am glad OK is considering this law, even if I hardly open while I have a ccw- sometimes your jacket/shirt can rise up and expose even the best ccw or you can print. ... locking ppl up for accidentally printing is wrong

We must have been visiting completely different parts of the state. OKC was flat-out depressing and the rest of the state was just flat.

And before there was religion the fundamental laws that are required for societal aggregation already existed. It is not a problem that a law is both civil AND religious, it is a problem when a law is adopted BECAUSE of its religious origins.
