    FFL transfer

    Hi,

i am new, sorry. I have a question.

I have transfered a couple guns I bought online to an FFL i've used before, but they were bought from an actual FFL holder. I bought a gun from gunbroker.com recently and the person I bought it from isn't an FFL.

Here comes the question. Since the person is a private party without FFL they MUST ship it through an FFL to my FFL correct? Otherwise it would be a third party transfer and the person would have to physically be in the store transferring it who owns the gun....right?

If so is this only a CA rule? Info please??

Sorry if this is wrong place to post this.

No if your FFL will receive a gun from a private individual that is OK. Just be sure to ak your FFL.

OCArmory is right - private individual can ship to your CA FFL. No law requires FFL-to-FFL.

CA requires that you use an FFL for most gun purchases; FedGov requires FFL for interstate (where you and seller reside in different states).

So I call my FFL and ask him if he'll take a gun from a private party? He told me earlier if it isn't from an FFL it would be a third party... what will the person sending my gun need as far was paperwork? The seller lives in PA and I obviously live in CA

Your original post doesn't tell what type of gun. If it's a handgun, then it must be either C&R or on the CA approved roster -- else the CA transfer dealer cannot DROS it to you.
