This may come as a complete surprise, but "the media" have an agenda.

That agenda is to get as many DemocRats elected as possible.

Why would they want to report that kind of information?

What a silly incompetent thing to say! The mainstream media has reported this and many other nonsensical things she has said and done. If you haven't known about them, that can only be because you don't read or watch the mainstream media, and thus you are incompetent to pass judgement on what they do or do not report.

The only agenda the mainstream media have is to make money, and that involves sucking up to what they perceive as their clientele. Of course, you always get a few loons like the Reverend Moon backing the Washington Times (if I have that correct) where he has an explicit agenda which may or may not involves making money, but in general, businesses need to make money to stay in business, and they are very aware of that.
