LOL who said she would even be minority leader? She must be voted in for that position by the other dems in congress. That won't happen. She is 70 and will step down instead of being a regular old congressman

Seems pretty chicken-caca to retire immediately after an election. What, now we have to have a special election just to fill your seat? Frack off...

These people will cling to whatever position of privledge they have...She won't retire now. Maybe in the next election cycle when the new President hails from the Repubs...

We'll see how Nancy likes it now that she has to give up her private government jet.

It would be more surprising if Pelosi did not resign after a loss like this.

I'll take it, although I'd much rather see her voted out of office. Since that's not likely to happen, her retiring is fine by me. Of course, we can trust the dumber part of SF population to elect a worthy replacement for her

IIRC, Newt Gingrich resigned after the Republicans experienced greater-than-expected losses in the 1998 elections. But then Newt has more honor in his pinky finger than Nancy Pelosi has in her whole district.

Lets see what kind of jet Boehner gets in January...

Maybe someday real people will be able to run for political office without millions of dollars and a privileged background.

May I suggest that we ban this person permanently for teasing us with such a wonderful idea?

Dangling the carrot of hope just for reaction is cruel.
