How would DOJ respond to a major handgun manufacturer skipping Roster?

How will DOJ handle a major handgun manufacturer bypassing their silly roster by shipping semi autos converted to single shot long barrel versions en masse?

If DOJ keeps this up, they'll soon run out of a job.

Well, they tried pretty hard to ban OLLs, but that didn't work out very well for them.

Back during the early OLL days, key DOJ staffers were also anti-gun activists, and used the DOJ to try to further their goals. They cared very much. There have been some significant changes there since Brown became AG, so maybe they wouldn't care so much now.

Well, arent they the ones that administer and profit from the roster testing/fee collection? If all the sudden Glock starts shipping single shot gen IV's it'll seriously cramp their little revenue stream..

1.) Exploratory conversations have been had with some mfgrs.
It will take some time for them to digest & get traction, however,
and this is probably best done thru intermediaries - and we have
small vendors in CA arranging for (or doing, if they have 07 mfgr
                  FFL) single-shot conversions.

2.) DOJ itself can't/won't do much about it. Single-shot exemption
was passed by legislature in 2005 (IIRC). The structure of the law
combined with lack of constructive possession issues and proper
conduct by the FFLs and relevant mfgrs/importers

LWRCI Is a good example!. I have both the 6.8 and 5.56 PSD Pistol shipped direct to me from the factory with Bullet Button installed. I just wish RRA would get some cajones and start shipping full setups to CA again!

Or all revolvers with 3+" barrels & 7.5" overall length as single-actions

lol... just a barrel extension made of tin welded to the end. 1 swift smack and it's clean. Or some other material that would be "integral" to the design of the barrel from the factory that can be broken off and cleaned with a file.

I think this would be cheaper than shipping the extra barrel.

Or a mail-in rebate setup "mail us your proof of purchase and we'll give you an extra trade-in credit with your old barrel, which will cover the cost of 2 10rd magazines and a new, shorter barrel"

                              Here's how Taurus does it

All of their pistols are made in Brazil so they have to pass the importation points test, which severely punishes small, short, light, low caliber revolvers. They add some mass out the front as an extension of the barrel and cut and crown it once it hits America.
