I think the language about "gun owners" could be revised to, "Citizens should have a right to defend etc...
And "Passage of this legislation etc etc is a victory for all citizens of PA etc...
Are gun owners the only people with the God given right to defense?
I think seperating the "gun" element might command more support.
"Duty to retreat" is one of the most disgusting bits political garbage ever. It goes against the grain of the very things our country stands for.
What its saying is, you may own something, your house, your car, your life, but if someone wants to take it from you by force, you must let them have it and rely on the "hero class" to recover it for you.
I ask myself, just who does a law like that protect?
Thugs and criminals should be made deathly afraid of loss of life or limb if there going to rob and steal from people. The choice is up to them.
