John R. Lott Jr seminar today, I was there

Went to CSUEB (aka Cal State Hayward) to participate in a Seminar featuring John R. Lott Jr, professor and author of "More Guns, Less Crime". He was amazingly sucinct and low key in his demeanor and presentation,,, he didn't need to be any more. The evidence displayed was easily enough to support his thoughts.

Haven't been to CSU-Hayward since I matriculated in 1969. Believe it or not... it has changed.

Six million people in the Bay Area and I was one of 20 or so show up and listen to John R Lott Jr, author of "More Guns, Less Crime", discuss the topic. I know that Mark Twain said something about 'lies, damned lies and statistics' but Prof Lott came clean with numbers not to be denied!

    Thank you Dr. Lott.

John Lott seminar today, I was there.

I visited my alma mater, Cal Styate Hayward today and attended a seminar featuring Dr. John R. Lott Jr, author of "More Guns, Less Crime'.. the MAN of knowledge supporting the positve aspects of private firearms ownership.
Dr Lott did a Power Point presentation illustrating the statistics that verify his thesis.

I would have liked to have been able to post his analysis charts,,, but I guess you have to purchase the recent edition (3rd) of his book, More Guns, Less Crime, to see them.

      EDIT:

Sorry GVCT, I forgot answer your question.

This only occrred Wed PM. There was a videographer present, I would assume she wsas part of the Smith Foundation that presented the presentation.
If you get a link, please let me know.
      \Thanks

Maybe more people would have showed up if they had known about it. This is the first I've heard of it and it's after the event. Whoever planned it did a poor job of publicizing his appearance.

for the record this event is part of a class for ECON upperclassmen majors. normally a speaker goes into the classroom and speaks. but in 2-3 times a quarter, the SMITH CENTER pays for a speaker to come and talk.

as the mission statement of the SMITH CENTER SAYS:

The Smith Center for Private Enterprise Studies sponsors lectures, research, seminars, conferences, and courses for future leaders in business and society to learn how the principles of free enterprise builds a strong economy. Programs and activities explore in-depth the concepts of private property, voluntary exchange, economic and civil liberties, constitutional law, financial markets, entrepreneurship, risk-taking, and new venture management.

the event was advertised on the campus paper, which i read today.

I heard about it a few weeks ago and I would have attended but for the fact that it was at 2PM. Despite our state's unemployment rate, some of us still have jobs that we need to do at 2PM.

When his study first came out a few years ago, I thought this would be the end of our problems. His evidence was overwhelming, and he was not even a "gun guy". But, I overlooked the problem that facts don't mean anything to the anti-gun crowd. They already know whats best for us peons, and have no interest in finding out the truth.
