    Open carry & HSC Q's

My expiration date passed on my HSC. Is it still OK to open carry? I did a search and got lots of info. Just didn't come up with this. TIA

The HSC affects your ability to acquire, not own. If you are opening carrying legally, that is a separate issue.
    all the best,

There are some people that it's just not worth engaging.

It's a muzzle BRAKE, not a muzzle break. Or is your muzzle tired?

EVen if it expires, you are not required to present it to a cop.

      Yet another unenforceable law.

        Dully,

Glad to see you back here, hope you and the fam are well.

An HSC card generally only gates handgun acquisition (i.e, your purchase or as a transfer/ inheritance
recipient). The HSC in no way gates ordinary possession: for the handguns you already have, you do
not need a valid HSC (i.e, you can let it expire and/or not have to get one) to retain them.

The one exception I can think of where continued HSC validity may well be required is the "infrequent
loan" (handguns only) provision in 12078 PC: the phrasing of the law seems to imply that the borrower's
HSC be valid continually throughout the period (up to 30 days max) in which the handgun was borrowed
[as opposed to just being valid at the initiation of the loan].
