Who are you to say what ammount of ammunition is excessive...what he was doing is perfectly legal

His mistake was telling the officer he had guns in the car. That's what got the cop interested in the first place. I would have responded with a simple "Nope" when asked. If he pushed it beyond that I would have made it clear that I did not consent to a search and requested the watch commander or supervisor or whatever they call it in TN. A small digital recorder in your pocket or around your neck would be gold in this situation.

I have a question about that. If "Officer Youhavenorights" decides to do a roust, and he searches ME as he applies handcuffs or whatever, what is to stop this obvious scofflaw from simply taking/erasing/destroying the recording?

Incredible. The police get to do anything they want and make stuff up as they go along. I hope they nail those 2 bad cops. It wouldn't surprise me if the handgun and AK mysteriously wound up in their personal gun safes.

I hope they would sue those 2 cops plus the supervisor. What were they thinking? As a civilian, ignorance of the law is not an excuse and so it should apply too to police and particularly to the supervisor who told them to cite them for illegal possession of firearms. Supervisor needs to get booted too.

I think congress should strengthen the "Safe Passage Law" just to refresh those newbie cops.
