    Gun Free Australia

Keep taking away the guns from citizens and this is what happens.
    RIP my friend.

What am I saying here, someone in the household could have possibly prevented this, but they had no means to defend themselves.

Man shot dead at home in front of wife
A man pleaded for his life before being executed in front of his wife in what police describe as a cold-blooded murder in Melbourne's suburbs.
The 46-year-old man died at about 11pm (AEST) on Friday after a gunman entered his St Albans home, north-west of Melbourne.
"Once inside the premises, the gunman approached the father and executed him in cold blood, basically firing the shot into him, killing him virtually instantly and in front of his wife," Detective Sergeant Chris Dorman told reporters.
"It was an act of cold-blooded murder basically. It was an execution-style murder and it was done in front of his loved ones."
Det Sgt Dorman said the man's 13-year-old daughter did not witness the shooting but was present when he passed away.
He would not be drawn on how many shots were fired but said police believed the victim may have known his attacker.
"The information that we have is the deceased begged for his life," he said.
"We believe ... that it wasn't a random attack. We believe there may have been an association between the gunman and the family."
Det Sgt Dorman said the family was "absolutely devastated".
"The family are here with us now and we are taking care of them and considering their welfare issues. At this stage they're assisting with inquiries," he said.
The dead man's name and address were suppressed on Saturday as officers canvassed the area for possible clues to the killing.
"A canvas of the neighbourhood was done and there were some neighbours who said they heard loud shots like firecrackers," he said.
Det Sgt Dorman said police were still investigating a possible motive for the killing.
"We don't know at this stage, we're exploring all facts and all options," he said.

So sad! I have a lot of family in Australia & St Albans is a familiar area. Most of my family are not into guns, etc. But at least the love for big dogs is common in the family.

I know that semi autos are banned there but not sure if s/s or o/u shotties are.

I wish Australian's would rise up and fight this oppression. It's a god given right to denfend ourselves. No government can't take this away.

Heck I wish more Americans would stand up aswell.

Interesting thread... Retruning back from a business trip from Germany this weekend, met an Aussie family (Father) on the way back from Berlin to Frankfurt and we were talking about Australia and how I enjoyed my time there last year. And he was going on about his love of the wilderness and how he wish he was in Montana or any US state that allows big game hunting with no gun/rifle restirctions because Austrailia does not allow any handgun/rifle ownership after the total ban on them in which the govt. bought them back from the citizens. After retirement, he plans with his wife, who is a US citizen now lives in Aus, will move to the US. They seem well off since he stated he will be retiring in a few years and I could have sworn he did not look over 45. Must be nice to have that option.

Australia does not have a total ban on handgun/rifle ownership and there is still big game hunting there. They hunt alot of animals from rabbits, to roos, to pigs, to donkeys, camels, water buffalo, etc. There is a thriving business in guiding locals and overseas hunters and many areas have very little restrictions on hunting rifles.

Semi automatic rifles and shotguns are banned and handguns are severly restricted though.

So I've heard, after Australia passed the ban, large diameter PVC pipe sold out (Urban legend or truth?)
