A firearm in an owned business!

Did a search on calguns to no avail!
Are there any particular laws about having a gun at your place of business?

Say for example a pistol in the desk/toolbox/wherever handy? I am pretty confident it is no different than at home but was wanting to know from another source(ie calguns)!

BTW in said situation , I own the shop!

You ever been inside a gun shop? Or a shooting range? The ones I go to, the employees open carry.

As long as you own the property as well you're ok to carry in your business. If the shop space is rented or leased, check your lease agreement to make sure it's not stipulated.

          Thanks to all!
Josey: I was not reffering to open carry.

Purple K: nothing in my lease prohibits it!

Just wanted to double check the consensus of my prior search...in case I missed something!

What about carrying concealed in your place of business? Would the fact that your business is open to the public make a difference?

I'd honestly be careful in any outdoor areas, as I'm not sure how you would separate an open public outdoor piece of your property with the restriction on public access areas at a residence. Just saying if you have outdoor private property that is open to the public (ie not fenced & gated) you would at least be unloaded in that area.

Perhaps my search skills are lacking. I typed in the same as the header and found nothing of value(ie related).

I also typed in the word business(just now) and still nothing relevent.....hell even this post was about 15 or 20 down the page after typing in the header. I would have thought it would have been first, seeing as that it was searched as the title. Maybe there is somthing I am doing wrong!

The CGN search is what I used, not google! I assumed it would pull up relevent topics.

Upper right hand side is the CGN Google search button - Use that in lieu of our own search - You'll never go back -

I too am a small bus owner - I've a few pieces spread out in the store -
