It was just announced to the Sacramento County Deputy Sheriff's Association at 1700 today, 9-24-10 that Jim Cooper will have a booth at the Road Runner Gunshow at Cal Expo this weekend, 9-25 and 9-26.

The announcement doesn't mention if Capt. Cooper will be at the booth or not, but would be a good opportunity obtain more information.

This message is not implying that I am supporting either candidate (at this time).

Sacramento County Firearms Education and Safety Council
    Jim Holtzman

    The message is as follows:

    September 24, 2010
Cal Expo is holding a Gun Show this weekend (September 25/26) and Cooper for Sheriff has a booth which he needs help staffing with volunteers. The booth will be open on Saturday from 9A-5P and on Sunday from 9A-4P. Volunteers are needed to staff the booth, even if it is for a short period of time and not the full day.

Please contact Roz McDaniel ASAP at 870-6980 if you are available to volunteer!

My wife was able to speak with Jim Cooper yesterday at the airbase in North Highlands. She spoke with him at length and he said he is VERY pro 2A/shall issue and will start doing so as soon as he's in office. She said he responded positively to her question about "Taking the only tool we have to defend our family and ourselves." He said he advocates it strongly for qualified persons (can legally own a firearm, gun safety course) and won't hesitate to issue. He said that they had to cut the sherrifs dept by 48% and it is ridiculous not to shall issue. We now have a "Support Jim Cooper" sign in our front yard.

Just thought I'd pass this along.
