Just got signed up for the EPL membership on NRA, I am going to make more than the minimum payment so my status changes sooner but I just dont have the $1000 to drop right now.

By the way, you can call them and say "I'd really like to not receive a lot of junk from you" and they'll stop sending it. I don't get a lot of overtly gun-related stuff, for what it's worth.

Nice that it worked for you. I got offers for time shares to insurance. once they sell your name it is out there, good luck getting it back.

Congratulations on the EPL Membership! I have one also and am $200 away from finishing. I wish that everyone that owned a gun or just everyone on this website would become an NRA member. There are lots of folks that want the Freedom and the Guns but don't want to bother to stand up and be counted or belong to an organization that fights for your rights. As for junk mail I have an incredible system for eradication of all things junk. It is a trash can! I keep one by my mail box and presto, it doesn't even get in the door! : )

Junk mail also makes great fire starter, I just love having a fire to go along with my cigar and martini

Good for you Droc...you will never regret it.

I have been a NRA lifer for a long time and have since worked up to Benefactor-Life and I still don't get much junk mail. Most of what I get is gun-mail, and this I enjoy.

Great timing of this post. The mail just came and my EPL card and kit arrived today Also got the watch (don't wear them but it's nice non the less) I thought I would get the Lifer window sticker but oh well. At first I was sad that it would take so long to pay off the membership with $25 quarterly but I found if you log in with your member info you can make payments when ever you want and for what ever amount you want. Now to get the $$ for CGF

As a lifer, I don't get much mail from the NRA, and I know of some who are members from a promotional free one year membership from a while back, and they don't get much mail either.

As far as getting mail from them, I will continue to get whatever they send, and I will welcome it. It's far better than stuff coming in from the Government with bad news.

While your supporting the NRA also know you're supporting Harry Reid and the ATF. The NRA has publicly stated they have no interest in the abolition of Firearms laws or the ATF, so why should they get your money? They've grown so big and need new money to keep rolling so they NEED reasons for you to be upset at politicians, think about it.

Good deal. I took advantage of a similar program back in the '90's and never regretted it. And no, it didn't result in an increase in junk mail.
