That's standard for all BB's and other "CA compliance devices."
The reason it says "not DOJ approved" is because the DOJ will not issue any acknowledgments of anything we do as being legal.
They intentionally do this to discourage people from exercising their rights, but the Raddlock is most certainly legal and used on thousands of non-detachable mag rifles.Gun Control: The theory that a woman found dead in an alley, raped and strangled with her panty hose, is somehow morally superior to a woman explaining to police how her attacker got that fatal bullet wound. -- L. Good enough for me. I suppose that since I do not plan on taking my rifles outside CA (unless I move away) it really does not matter. If the law changes (yeah right) I will just put a regular mag release on it, otherwise, it will always be BB for featured and std mag release. That's standard for all BB's and other "CA compliance devices."

My main focus is to make sure everything I do is legal: The only think I know for SURE is I must have a muzzle brake and apparently I am legal for that.
Revieweing the AW chart here at Calguns, it says the a "Flash Suppressor" makes it a featured rifle, yet Muzzle Break is not listed. So, I presume I can have a Muzzle Brake installed and still be featureless (forgetting about everything else at this point.) Muzzle Brake seems to be a questionable item to me. By definition it is NOT the same thing, but visually it sure looks the same to me.Last edited by MaHoTex; 08-26-2010, 4:15 PM.NRA Life Member

That's just because the know it alls that made the law think that an attachment that can reduce the felt recoil rather hide the report of the flash is somehow less dangerous.Good enough for me. If you try to think of ca gun laws with logic all you end up with is a headache. Lucky for you that you want a brake and not a flash hider because it turns out brakes are less "Evil".
Going with a brake you'll be fine for featureless assuming you meet all other given criteria per the flowchart.RLTW

Neither is the bullet button, the monster man grip or the hammerhead. That which is not prohibited is permissible, whether DOJ likes it or not. To the best of my knowledge there has not yet been a successful prosecution of anyone using such a tool apart from other real violations.

Well, the "flash supressor" language is unconstitutionally vague. If anyone ever got popped for an "assault weapon" where the only thing questionable was that it had a flash suppressor, we'd probably be able to overturn the law.
We're optimistic we'll overturn all of 12276 in the near future. In a worst-case world where we fail at that, though, I'm confident we'd eventually strike "flash suppressor" from the list of features as being unconstitutionally vague. And, we'll do that if we have to save someone's skin. Just no point in doing it in the short-term when we're hoping to kill the whole law "soonish".Brett Thomas - @the_quark on Twitter -
