At Least 65 Innocent People Have Been Killed in Recent Mass Shootings Involving Concealed Handgun Permit Holders

Washington, DC--Gerardo Regalado, the 38-year-old man who shot seven women, killing four, earlier this week at a Hialeah, Florida, restaurant is at least the 16th person licensed to carry a concealed handgun reported to have committed a mass shooting (three victims or more) since May 2007 according to Violence Policy Center (VPC) research. The 15 prior mass shootings, two of which occurred in Florida, are detailed on Concealed Carry Killers, an on-line resource that tallies from news reports killings by concealed handgun permit holders. Not including this most recent shooting, the website reports that since May 2007 concealed handgun permit holders have killed a total of at least 166 people, including nine law enforcement officers.

According to news reports, Regalado, who killed himself after the shooting, had a concealed handgun permit--even though relatives described him as "pure evil" with a history of abusing women and having served "hard time" in a Cuban prison.

Prior to the Hialeah shooting, concealed handgun permit holders had claimed 61 innocent lives in 15 mass shootings since May 2007

    From: http://www.vpc.org/press/1006fl.htm

A not-so-new low of the psychotic twisting of tragedies to serve a flawed agenda.

However, this article is still kinda worrying... Can someone explain it to me?

For example, 166 people were murdered by CCW permit holders in the last 3 years?! If you take out justifiable homicides and compare that to the total 30,000 murders by firearms in the last 3 years, that means CCW holders were responsible for a whopping half of 1 percent of all murders by firearms in the last 3 years. Which means, by merely obtaining a CCW permit, you're several times less likely to commit murder. The cause of this correlation could be explained by the stringent background check requirements for obtaining a CCW, thereby making CCW holders more law abiding by nature, as opposed to the slanderous scumbags at the Violence Propagation Center. However, VPC and I have reason to believe that the truth is much darker and surprising than that. As far as inanimate objects go, clearly guns are downright evil, but did you realize plastic CCW cards also have the ability to murder innocent people, while covering up the fact that they're doing so?

Indisputable Proof: According to VPC, Florida has one of the highest incidents of murder by CCW holders! If we compare the 20 murders (not including those acquitted for self-defense, which they conveniently leave in their PDF report) committed by the 700,000 Florida CCW holders over the past 3 years, to the rest of the Florida population, you'll find that the average person possessing a Florida CCW is 7 times less likely to be responsible for a murder or non-justifiable homicide. Now while this may confuse you at first, you have to realize that CCW's are much smarter than you and I. These CCWs are not only evil, they're cunning enough to cause non-CCW holders to commit even MORE crimes than their holders, thereby making it appear that CCW holders are vastly more law abiding than the general population. Why, you ask?! It's all part of the sinister plans of the spreading CCW plague. In the last few decades we've gone from no states allowing CCW to the vast majority. At the very minimum, several million citizens have CCW's, and 99.9994% of them do not commit violent crimes nor have their permits revoked. The clearly evident danger here is the rise in violent crime that CCW's cause...in non-CCW holders, through their self-fulfilling mind control abilities.

Do you realize how serious this is? Imagining the worst case scenario here, if the McDonald verdict comes down in favor of incorporation, it can only lead to even more citizens being issued CCWs, which can only result in a more and more violent non-CCW holding population, which is again, a direct result of increased CCW issuance. Think of the children! Is it too late to join VPC in their noble cause?! CalGunControl.net is available!

Cliff notes: Fed up with the propaganda, I create some of my own anti-gun propaganda, complete with the excessive use of exclamations. While the statistics are legitimate, the conclusions reached are as logical and valid as the typical faux statistical conclusions reached by leading victim disarmament groups such as the Brady Campaign, VPC, etc.

How many innocent people have soccer moms driving dangerous SUV's while yacking on their cell phones killed in the last 3 years? Wheres the outrage????

Here's one of their documented cases of 'Murder'

      From their report:

Concealed Handgun Permit Holder: Vincent Williams
      PENDING
      Date: February 21, 2010
      People Killed: 1
Circumstances: On February 21, 2010, 30-year-old Lashawn Davis was allegedly shot
and killed by Vincent Williams, 31, outside an E-Z Mart convenience store in Jefferson
County. Several witnesses told police that the two men had shot one another. According
to a police report, Davis was found slumped in the driver’s seat of a 1999 gold Mercury
Grand Marquis with his feet hanging out of the car and his body facing south. A .45
handgun was found nearby. Police found Williams on the south side of the store,
bleeding, with a 9mm handgun nearby. Both men were transported to a local hospital
where Davis was pronounced dead and Williams was taken into surgery. Williams
reportedly told police that Davis had tried to steal his car. Williams had a concealed
      handgun permit.

This one is an outright lie:

Concealed Handgun Permit Holder: Richard Vithya Tauch
          PENDING
          Date: January 19, 2010
          People Killed: 2
Circumstances: On January 19, 2010, Richard Vithya Tauch allegedly shot and killed
his ex-girlfriend Jenny Van Sor and her new boyfriend Wen Chao. The shooting
occurred at the senior facility where Chao’s father lived. Tauch had a permit to carry a
          firearm as a security guard.
Tauch was booked for investigation of the double murder
and held in lieu of $1 million bail.
Source: “Man accused of gunning down ex-girlfriend and companion in Monterey Park senior housing
complex,” Los Angeles Times, January 20, 2010..
Its a permit for carrying a firearm ONLY while working! It's NOT a CCW.

          Heres the article:

Tauch, according to state licensing records, has a permit to carry a firearm while working as a security guard.

Yep. Not only do many of their "murders" include justifiable homicides arising from legal self-defense, but in those cases the articles sourced are even less assuming of guilt upon those legally defending themselves. And then of course are the crazies who can't be stopped by the consequence of life imprisonment & the death penalty.. and the crazies like VPC that think a law against carrying would have stopped them.

True. But if they didn't count all the fluff, like guard cards = CCW's, the numbers would look even less incidental (which is saying a lot).

Still no defamation lawsuit yet? Or do we have to be "protected class" for libel and slander to apply to us?

Yea - I didn't read through all of them, but there were a number that jumped out at me as bogus. There was at least one case of negligence where a father left his carry pistol in the center console of his truck - kids got in there and one of them shot the other with it. Claiming "it just went off". That was chalked up to an instance of "killing at the hands of a CCW holder".

I did the math - and with an average of 30,000 gun related deaths per year (including ND/AD, suicide, justified shootings, and police-related shootings) - over the last 3 years (2007-2010), with a total of 166 CCW related deaths - that breaks down to a 0.184% rate of CCW involvement in gun-related deaths (166 of approx 90,000). That 166 breaks down 55.3 per year. For reference, an average of 90 people per year are killed by lightening.

So - you're more likely to be killed in a lightening storm then you are a CCW holder.

Personally - I think we should be applauding these people for making this website - and hammering these numbers home.

In a related story from yesterday, a plant worker at a Mazda plant in Japan got mad and ran over fellow workers with a brand new car. All auto plant workers in Japan are having their drivers licenses revoked.

Hopefully after we get all these pending cases sorted out we can fry the VPC for slander and get them shut down.
