UMP lower legal in CA - someone spreading false rumors

Someone is spreading false rumors saying UMP lowers are illegal to own in CA.

If that were the case then AK and every other parts kit out there would be illegal wouldn't it... YES, IT WOULD MEAN THAT!

Darkest put it best - Parts are just that, parts.

    Ok, who?

The fate of the wounded rest in the hands of the ones who apply the first dressing.

If they really have basis for these claims, I'll let them come and post.

      I call total FUD

Do you mean the HK USC mag well drilled out to accept double stacked UMP mags, or just the UMP style stock - or both? Or the trigger group. What are you defining as "lower"

UMP lower is just that, a lower group from a UMP.

Not sure why a CA rez. would need an "real" UMP lower. When you buy the USC you just need to swap the stock out to get the look. We can't even use the double stack mags (unless you want to block it at 10 rounds) What's the point?

What's the point??? What's the point of you owning any firearms? What's the point of you owning any ammunition? What's the point of you owning anything?

You can argue "What's the point" of every single firearm configuration on Calguns couldn't you... what's the point of any of it, right? What's the point of 10/20's, what's the point of 10/30's, what's the point of the U15, what's the point of the p50, what's the point of filling in a thumbhole stock, what's the point of blocking off a 100rd drum, what's the point of a featureless build, what's the point of pinning the mag, what's the point of a saiga, what's the point of an ar15, what's the point of an ak, what's the point of an uzi, what's the point of a psl, what's the point?

The point is it's legal, the point is to stop FUD.

What's the point. lol. this guy.

Also - more FUD on your part - you can use double stacks - monster man grip type fin. But then again, what's the point of a monster man grip right?

Some would even go out and argue why anyone needs a "real" gun.

Because we F***ing can. That's why.

Can't see why a CA rez. would need an "evil black rifle". When you can buy the same caliber in a nice non-threatening natural wood finish. What's the point?

Can't see why a CA rez. would need a rifle that holds more than 1 round. When you hunt, it shouldn't take more than 1 round. What's the point?

Can't see why a CA rez. should be concerned about uneccesary regulation of what he/she can own. The "powers that be" know better anyhow. What's the point?

If you haven't seen it with your own eyes,

No I get the "I want it b/c it looks cool" thing, but the UMP lower looks exactly the same as the USC/UMP conversion. When you have to block the mag at 10 rds, who cares if it's double stacked? We can't even have the folding stock folded so. . . why pay a fortune for a "real" UMP lower? It's like paying for a BMW body and installing a Honda V-6 engine.

See there's this great little state a few hours inland called Nevada. It's a magical place where California restrictions don't really matter and storage facilities can be rented...

But beings that we are from California, things somehow go through this state so it would be good to know if indeed a UMP lower is in fact legal. It's a lot easier to get mail and thus parts where you live as opposed to where the gun is kept.

With a featureless configuration and 5'' barrel extention you could.

I suppose we could apply that to any semi-auto, off-list AR15 or AK47 style rifle versus an automatic Colt M16 or an automatic Soviet-made AK47.
