Anyone carry the Kimber pepper blaster?

    or

Both of these pepper sprayers shoot a blast of OC spray at the target. The Kimber website does not forbid sales to CA, but seeing as how they look very similar to firearm shape, I wouldn't want them to attract LEO attention.

These seem more natural to aim and more precise than a safety tab can or regular pepper spray, what do you all think?

To me those seem to be getting a little to close to legal trouble for no real benifit over standard cans. However that is not an opnion based on any real legal training.

Not being restricted from shipping to California is not a good indicator of if its legal to carry. I can buy a .44 cal cap and ball gun from cabelas over the internet, but if I carried it on the streets of LA I would probably find myself in a squad car very quickly.

This has come up before, and they may not be legal in CA depending on how they expel the spray. See here and here.

Seems like a lot of expense for something that has only 2 shots, has rudimentary sights, and you have to hit the attacker in the face.

I have the older "Guardian Angel"

Fits in my sport coat pocket easily. Legal? I go on the fact that it is sold in every gun store I walk into, and not under the counter like condoms used to be.

I like those huge cans of bear spray personally, I've used them and never gotten in trouble-then again, I know what to say if questioned by LE.

My wife and daughter have them in their purses, I asked around at the time I bought them and was told they are legal...can't remember who I asked though.

                  Not legal in California.

ounces net weight of aerosol spray.

12401. "Tear gas" as used in this chapter shall apply to and
include all liquid, gaseous or solid substances intended to produce

Is tear gas the same as pepper spray?

                      Legally, it would seem so.

I bought my GF one of these recently. She works one block from SF murder central. I can't imagine LE giving her a hard time for defending her life with it.

What's more, on the legality issue, it does dispense as an aerosol device, albeit in a pistol form factor. Anyone have any verified info that it's not CA legal?

(I've read most of what's here, FWIW, including: http://calguns.net/calgunforum/showthread.php?t=436343 )

I would carry Taser M26C instead of those.

                            -less legal problem
                            -easier to aim
                            -longer effective range

I chased this from DoJ down to the 'ask your local cop' level.

I have a PepperBlaster in my Gearslinger.
