I live in Sacramento and I've bought quite a bit of ammo lately at Sports Authority. Everytime I've been required to show drivers license, give a thumb print, and sign a form. Today I bought ammo at a gun store and they didn't require any of that. Is the fingerprint/DL just a formality at SA or is that city code in Sacramento that this gun store didn't follow?

Yep. If the store is legally in Sacramento COUNTY and is NOT within the CITY limits, they did the correct thing. That law is ONLY for the City of Sacramento...Comment
