When I was living in Virginia some years ago, not long after the state had passed their 1-gun-per-month law, I remember talking to the dealers in my local gunshop about this topic; from their vantage point the law actually increased business -- whereas previously folks would bundle purchases (and negotiate modest discounts for the simultaneous purchase of 2-3 guns) -- after the 1-in-30 law passed many more folks simply came in once per month and bought something, and more often simply at asking price.

That was clearly a shrewd strategic move by the wives and spouses. However, Kestryll deftly outmaneuvered them when he pulled an Inchon and created this subforum. Buy as many as you want - wives, spouses and budgets be danged!

Now, if you could get your wife to enjoy the shooting sports as much as you, between the two of you, you can buy 2 handguns per month...if you can afford it.

I try to buy one a month simply because I can. The first time I did two PPTs on handguns in one month, and bought one from a FFL as well, I felt pretty good.

Dumb, dumb law. For anyone, but certainly for those of us who already have a bunch of guns? Fuggedaboutit. It does what to prevent crime?

Don't you know they guys selling stolen guns out of the back of their van follow the same rules? They make their customers wait 10 days, while the run a background check, and enforce the 1-in-30 days law, too, right? I mean - it's THE LAW - they have to!

But this does not cover the hi-point handguns.

I gotta do that this year. I didn't know it was a way to be exempt from the ammo ban as well. If that actually occurs. I'm assuming ammo sellers aren't spooked by sending their product to a licensed C&R + COE in CA.

I never could afford to join the gun-a-month club.

Not a single person in the crowd is rational or reachable because the parade's for gay folks and it's in SF.
