I am trying to find out if their is a list published or available of all the 07 SOT manufacturing in the USA.

unfortunately there is not a list of "Special Occupational Taxpayers" that we can get our hands on from the feds. Apparantly, because it is a tax payment, it is considered confidential tax information. So, we have to get by with finding out who is an SOT by them telling us.

Do you want an AOW or C&R SBS/SBR in CA?

FRE= I believe the list is only in CA i am looking for inside and outside of PRK

KE6= If there is no list of SOTs is there a list of 07 FFLs

Also why is a SOT tax payment considered confidential tax information if it was for a liqueur licenses or the such it would be public, really the only protected tax information is personal income tax. To my understanding I could be wrong.

You can buy an FFL list from the ATF but I don't know if it breaks down by license type. I think it's just a mailing list.

The SOT is a protected document and status. Business taxes and documents are private, just like personal income tax and status. The NFA branch is also pretty professional about giving out information to the general public about the SOTs.

A liquor license is not a tax, it's a license.

What's your motive? If an SOT doesn't want to be bothered they won't advertise they are an SOT.

yes there is. YOu can DL the FFL list from the ATF, and sort it by FFL types.

I dunno, thats just what I've been told when I asked if one could get a copy of the SOT list on NFA forums. I'm gonna try to ask ATF about it when I go to the SHOT show.

Actually, AFAIK, a "liquor license" is a state license, so the rules are different. Now, if you wanted a list of all the licensed breweries, then that would fall under ATF, perhaps as tax info.

For us in CA, the few SOTs that there are in the state may not realize that there is any benefit to advertising SOT status in CA. They may not be aware that certain AOWs are legal in CA for civilian ownership. So, a list of SOTs would be nice to have in order to call them and trying to inform them of a new potential clientel.

                Sorry freak --

Maybe I was unclear with my liquor example, a liquor store pays an SOT tax just like an 07 but that is public knowledge. They even have to post a copy of the form in the establishment. If that is the case why is an SOT tax on a gun business not public knowledge.

Is the FFL list on a disc or is it a paper list? Do you know who i can contact to get a copy of that list?

I am doing a research project on SOTs and the amount of tax being raised from them by the government.

ATF redesigned their website last week and I don't know where anything is at anymore. I'll see if I can find it again.

mentions how to purchase a CD copy of the list.

                    ok, https://www.atfonline.gov/fflezcheck/
is where you can DL a list of FFLs . With that you import it into excel and you can then sort by the portion of the FFL that indicates the type.

                      Paper list. Contact the ATF.

SOT revenue will vary. There are importers and manufacturers. Standard is $1,000 per FFL per year, but small manufacturers and importers pay only $500 per year. Dealers pay $500 yearly flat rate.

I don't think the FFL list from the ATF breaks down license type. I think it includes all FFLs so types 1-3 and 6-11.

actually, if you select the FFL download link, https://www.atfonline.gov/fflezcheck...loadDisplay.do , and enter a valid FFL number, you then have the ability to DL the entire FFL list (minus 03 and 06 FFLs). Comes out to around 60,000 FFLs IIRC.

Just tried it, it is downloading a large file so I assume that's it.

What about the list of ranges in CA, any ideas where to find that one?
