Yeah, I heard about that. It was all over the news.

    Not.

    Good on the homeowner anyways!

Robbed once before and this time caught them in the act. I'm surprised he only fired a warning shot, but probably better in the long run (less hassle).

      +1 for the good guys.

Nice work. Perfect way to handle the situation. Those guys are going to go to prison, and it's not like their family is ever going to file a civil lawsuit against the homeowner.

Unless the robbers were armed in which case the homeowner would have been shot.

Did anyone read some of the comments? Doesn't sound like the citizens of Fresno are too keen on their PD.

I am not sure if I would say perfect, because a warning shot in surburbia could wind up in a neighbor's house.

They'll sue for false imprisonment saying they weren't robbing the place, but only trying to find items they left there accidentally from the first robbery...

The warning shot thing is just stupid. Do not fire a warning shot. If you intend to fire, you better mean to hit something- and a warning shot in a res area seems like a horrible idea to me (not to mention a good way to mess up your house for no reason).

No, they were just returning the stuff they borrowed last month.

Well if they had both been shot I'm sure it would have been insisted that they we're "just about to turn their lives around" (TM)

Fresno PD only has DUI checkpoints and tickets to write, no time for stopping
                            crime.

They did close down a WalMart last night for a bomb threat. There must have
been 200 of them there and one PO'd looking K9!

Don't get me wrong, the FPD Gang Task force is making a small dent, but the
only FPD I ever see are either driving while talking on the cell-phone,(not
noticing me "California Rolling"), or behind a Radar Gun.

Which is why I feel giving an intruder in your house a chance to stay still (on their own accord) isn't prudent.
