    reloading supples require ID?

    Is this FUD?

Local store requires ID to purchase primers, bullets, brass etc. Says it
is a Federal Law that went into effect Feb. 2009 and that anyone caught
at the border with such from their store will cause them to lose their ability
    to sell ammo.

I grilled them the second time and they insisted it was the new administration.

FUD, there is a state ammunition law that goes into effect in February of 2011 but there is no new Federal law in 2009

The bass pro shop in Rancho cucamonga requires you to show your i.d. and they actually log it in their book when you buy primers and powder. Sucks big time buy they haven't had any primers for a long time! Its all about ammo bros minutes away, they don't need your i.d.

So make a point to tell the manager that you aren't shopping there because their policy goes above and beyond already ridiculous state laws, and that since they don't want the business of the gun community they don't get to have it! Then ask the manager where the nearest store is that sells the supplies without requiring any ID.

There's been a lot of DHS BS in the last few years.

I wanted to make a manifold for my motorcycle air horns. Picked up some brass fittings, no problem.
Went to a Pep Boys and tried to pick up some 5/16 tubing with flare nuts on the ends (brake line/ATF cooler tubing)... the girl scanned it in and it asked for my name an address.
Tried to blow her off, but the register insisted. She even called the manager over to see if he could approve it without putting it in and he couldn't bypass it.

Of course, they only had one of the 3 pieces of tubing I needed. Went to Kragen and got one more of the 3 I needed. Same thing at the register.
Got the 3rd piece at Autozone and the same thing happened. The AZ manager said that every now and then that happens with particular products, and it has to do with DHS tracking items that can be used to make bombs.
Okay... I'll take that with a grain of salt, but there's no other valid explanation for 3 stores that never have asked for personal info (and haven't since) to all ask it for the same type of item.

                    Now that's picky!

I've been putting down 200 most of my adult life. Anything between 190 and 215 is good enough for 200. Heck... I'll vary 5-6 pounds from day to day just from water.

I think they were just screwing with me.. however the last gun I bought , we had to strip down in the parking lot because the shop owner was afeared of 922r compliance issues and i transferred a barreled receiver

I've bought primers at BP as recently as this summer and I've never had to show ID. In fact, the guys at the gun counter have just handed me the primers and had me ring up at the front registers.

now, if you do look young, I can see them asking you for ID since there are age requirements to purchase ammunition components.

Do you want an AOW or C&R SBS/SBR in CA?
