agp saiga 12 magazine holds 11

i was using someones saiga 12 with the fixed magazine but found out i could shove in 11 rounds but could only insert it with the bolt back

has anybody else seen this issue?

i worry for him cause he may be in possession of a assault weapon but he bought it as it is from a dealer so wouldnt they be on the hook too ?

Fixed mag with >10 rounds being an automatic AW doesn't apply to shotguns. The magazine itself could still be a problem, but the shotgun with mag inserted wouldn't be an AW.

        Lets see here:

1.) Mags greater than 10rd on fixed-mag shotgun = OK
        2.) Possession of large-capacity mags = OK
        3.) Your friend = OK!
        Please read the Calguns Wiki
Laws that forbid the carrying of arms...disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes...Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man.

Only the dealer would be on the hook so to speak for transferring it to him and possibly for causing it to be imported into CA depending on who they got it from. (assuming it was not mail ordered while assembled or mail ordered disassembled then assembled by your friend)

Your friend is in the clear (with the caveat above).

There is also the possibility that the mag is broken and holds 11 instead due to a defect. My 10-rounder saiga-12 mags only hold 10...

That's weird, I've never seen one that could hold 11 rounds.
