I may be wrong, he does not have to sign it,(with no action it becomes law) or he can veto it, or he can sign it into LAW

Hope for the best, prepare for the worst. Make your phone calls to his office and then order/buy all the ammo you can before the end of the year

I've been calling/emailing. The provisions don't take effect until 2/1/2011 though, so we have some time

Oh thought is was right after 2010, well even better, more time to save up to mail order more ammo before I have to take trips out of state if this crap becomes law.

I intended to be retired by this time next year but my job takes me to Yuma two or three times a year, I may have to keep working!

Might as well get used to that.

Imagine how skinny the inventory will be here in CA if AB962 becomes law.

And what you CAN find won't be cheap.

Yea. What's with this timing? When is the next Governor's election? Was the year 2011 chosen because Arnold might be gone and not have to face the thunder when it goes into effect, thereby giving him more incentive to not veto the bill?

That is somewhat incorrect. The governor has 30 days to veto, sign or ingore and let pass this bill. Once those 30 days are over, your effective date is correct however.

Unfortunatly this is why a single .223 costs 50 cents instead of 20. And a box of 50 .357 costs $40. If you can find it. I agree this is a stupid law, but this frenzy and complete misunderstanding in some cases is going to affect ALL ammunition, not just handgun ammo as is it meant to.

Bottom line is MOST of us do not have 1000's of dollars lying around to "stock up" and are literally being priced out of the market.
