    Fab10 question.

I would like to run a pistol caliber with my fab10 and to do so would mean cutting a hole in the bottom of the magazine well.

Can anyone think why cutting a hole in the magazine well would be illegal.

You would be better off selling the Fab-10 and buying an OLL. For a while 10% firearms was doing a trade.

    Don't do that again. -leelaw

Just go buy a real OLL and save your FAB-10. There is no reason to screw up that FAB-10 when OLLs are so cheap and will be exactly what you want. Just save your FAB-10 for a rainy day.

I'm curious as to your objection to my post. For political correctness? Civil liability from shoeless ventures? Maybe a PM would be appropriate.

What, you mean like this, in the Nancy Pelosi - Speaker of the House thread?

How cogent, eloquent and adult is that? Additionally, I've seen posts referring to "Libtards." Is that also considered mature discourse?

We will fix that, thanks for bringing it to our attention. In the future, the report button works quite well. -Leelaw

can we get back on track. I really don't want to be a test case for any of the magazine locking devices and would prefer to keep the pistol grip on.

I can't think of any problems cutting about half of the magazine well base.

                To stay on track...
What do you plan on doing with the hole in the base of the mag well? Are you going to place some kind of stick mag there and perma-fix it there somehow? Curious about your idea.
As long as it doesn't make it into a semiauto rifle that takes a detachable mag, a pistol grip, etc... I can't see how it could effect its legality.

This is the 10mm magazine I'm using

I can rivet it into place just like the .223 magazine.

Yeah, great idea! Then the forum will operate just like the government does. A bunch of snitches.

Just get an OLL. If you are really paranoid, get that magazine you want and follow the DOJ's purposed guidelines for a fixed mag. After all that is pretty much what you would be doing to the FAB-10.

I'd recommend contacting tenpercentfirearms and seeing if he'll still do a 1:1 trade of a FAB-10 for an OLL. I'd then take the magazine block you have pictured, and fix it into the OLL with a Prince15 kit, or similar.

You'll have a good, properly machined, high quality receiver, which could be reverted to a normal AR15 style when visiting other states. Sounds win-win to me.

I have a couple of Fab 10s and some Fulton OLLs as well, and looked at modifying one of the Fab 10s for a .22 mag. I'd definitely recommend against modifying the Fab 10s unless you're a very competent machinist.

Even if you are, using an OLL would be well worth the time and effort saved, unless you wanted to do it for its own sake.
