    EAA Saiga's are certainly legit.

This is a link to an internal DOJ memo where they were considering listing them. They did not and they can not list them now that AB-2728 passed.

      so are RAAs

RAA, the new importer of Saiga rifles, are indeed legit. The problem is finding an FFL. Here's a pic of mine which was done FTF, DROSed of course. (Crappy picture, but I only have a camera phone

either start being proactive or leave the state. The longer you're here, and waiting for bills to pass, the less rights you will have.

What I want to know is how do I build up a Saiga-style AK with all the required compliance parts? I can only find 4 and I need 6 (can;t replace the trigger group or buttstock w/ u.s. made ones).

If anyone discovers a dealer willing to ship, please post the info.
This rifle is currently at the top of my wish list for 2007.

If you're lucky enough to have an OLL friendly FFL holder close by, you can have CWS order one then receive it at the FFLs place. Its just a matter of coordination. I guess there will be an extra charge for the shipping and transfers but it shouldnt raise the price of the rifle by much.

Or since CWS is in TX, you should be able to buy one on say gunbroker then have it shipped there.

Magazine floorplates and followers each count as 1 part by the way so you could go that route. The kicker is you can only use those mags if the actual rifle doesnt have enough compliance parts.

which caliber rifle is better to get? 7.62x39, .308. .223? i'm having trouble. i'm inclined to get a .223 with 16" barrel. .223 because it's cheap ammo... any opinions on this choice?
