Why is Orange County enforcing SB2 even though there is an injunction?

?The Orange County Sheriff?s Department is currently updating the CCW Policy 218 to comply with SB2 guidelines that will be taking effect January 1, 2024. Some of these changes include: eligibility requirements, application process and training guidelines.?

The injunction only applies to the sensitive places component
My mother always told me to be careful what you ask for.

Just one more piece of parental advice I stupidly ignored.

I don?t know but I would guess bureaucracy. Bureaucracies tend to move slow so maybe they haven?t adjusted to the latest ruling yet.

The link does go to SB2 but right to the police officer sections of the bill. I didn't see anything about CCW holders.

Post #2 has it right. Injunction only applies to new sensitive places from SB2, other than any sensitive places in existence prior to SB2.

All other parts of SB2 have not been challenged, and are now in effect.

Which makes CA a purportedly shall issue state and changes the application form.

All departments are updating their procedures.
You need to read what the injunction covered.

CRPA has actually filed a lawsuit challenging other portions of SB2. While no district court has issued an injunction yet, the possibility exists. Everyone can follow the case here.
