    Outcome corruption case, Sherff Blanas?

I heard that former Sheriff Lou Blanas was indicted quite a while back for corruption charges.

What was the outcome, were the charges dropped, is it still pending, did he cut a deal?

Oh, you're thinking of the FBI investigation... IIRC, it never went anywhere.

The problem with bringing up corruption is the reply: so what? That's not a problem according to the California legal system that warrants correcting. As far as judges are concerned about him, he issued CCW's to insiders and not everyone else- that's something they don't have a problem with, and if anything they like that! Expecting a sheriff to be punished in California for corruption is like expecting a volcano to shut down because someone at the EPA complains.

Yes, Sheriff Dunn did get to take a ride to Club Fed... However, I've heard that the FBI basically stopped working on the Blanas case. That's why I said I didn't think it went anywhere.
