Hope the door hits him in in the *** on the way out.
War is when your Government tells you who the enemy is......

Revolution is when you figure it out for yourself.

You've been here too long to ask that question. They will get someone as bad or worse than that guy (from a CCW, Pro2a stance). This is Los Angeles!

No doubt about it. At best, it will stay the same. Most likely, it will get worse.
Especially considering the fact that anyone who covets the office knows that in Los Angeles, they can take a hard line anti-gun position and be welcomed with open arms by the city council, the cops and the liberal sheep-like masses which apparently comprise the majority in LA.

It's a hell of a note, but a person who wants to be the Chief of the LAPD could stand up and swear by God and all that is holy that he or she will do all they can to limit the citizen's "rights" under the 2A, and it will HELP them get the job.

While we may not like his politics, Bratton is a pretty shrewd character.
I'd guess that he shrewdly decided to leave for a different reason than others are mentioning--I imagine he can double dip and draw pension while also drawing a salary. I don't know the pension structure of LAPD, but an awful lot of things end up being there just so people can double-dip.

ETA: though leaving on a high note sounds compelling too. He doesn't need just one reason.

What do you need guns for if you are going to send your children, seven hours a day, 180 days a year to government schools? What do you need the guns for at that point?-- R. C. Sproul, Jr. (unconfirmed)

KTLA has an online article about it - the scariest part is the last line...

                  Here's the Article.

The police commission and mayor will have a say in who takes over for Bratton.

I believe he is also on the teat of Boston & New York. I met a NYC cop a couple of weeks ago and he said they were very happy to give him to us.

In the spirit of international cooperation, he probably will consider the Police Chief's of Mexico City, San Salvadore, etc. since we have most of their gang-bangers here already.

Seroiusly, I hope the next Chief is one of our own. It doesn't say much for the command structure if they go outside again.

Thank your neighbor and fellow gun owners for passing Prop 63. For that gun control is a winning legislative agenda.

Not promoting from within is a testament to the piss poor quality of the personel in that department.
