No guns at California BIG 5 stores any more

No guns at California BIG 5 stores any more

I called the main office of BIG 5
They will not be selling firearms in California any more.
They have pulled all their guns out of the California stores.
This is a corporate decision they made not to sell guns anymore.

I suggest your Boycott and DO NOT SHOP at BIG 5, or any other store
that does not support the US Constitution and 2nd Amendment.

I'm not doubting the fact that this is coming eventually to every Big five in California but checking the weekly flyer for two East Bay locations, El cerrito and Alameda , they still have sales where you have to bring "the coupon" for things like a $250 Dickerson foreign made pump shotgun,
or 100 rounds of 9 mm for $40
or 800 rounds of 22 caliber Federal range bulk pack for $70.

And those sales prices go through September 4th.

There is a little caption about hunting products not being available in all stores but I think that's been there since some of the stores in California have already stopped selling firearms at their locations.

Not boycotting, just haven't bought anything there in years.

It's been discussed in another thread.

It appears that with the new regs and installing video/audio and long term storage of videos was to costly in the long run for all their outlets.

If I find the other thread, I'll post it.

              The other thread:

And every table top FFL in the state will be put of business as well. Which is a shame since that was the only way to buy guns off the internet without paying an exorbitant transfer fee to a brick and mortar store.

I have spoken to the manager of our local B-5 about this. She said B-5 will continue to sell ammo.

She indicated that the new law applies to gun sales only.

That's good to know because their prices and quantities are better than the other Sonora FFL's.

I'm suspecting they don't sell enough long guns to make it worth while, and they're ammo has been the most expensive in town since before covid.

I stopped going there years ago.

Ridiculous. No valid reason to boycott their stores.

They are simply deciding to no longer sell a type of product which the State of Califirnia has made it such a hassle on many levels for them to handle, from licensing, permitting, special protocols, regulations beyond reason, special handling and storage requirements, the nonsensical and costly security and recording law, with little to no profit margin because of those hassles.

They are not making any sort of anti-2nd Amendment statements or expression of supporting gun ban orgs with this innocuous business decision.

While it's unfortunate to lose any vendor as a resource for firearms and ammunition, calling for a boycott in this scenario is idiotic.

Save it for when it matters and has meaning.
