Some of the local deputies shoot out at my friends place. They were talking to him about all the abandoned mine shafts out in the desert. They told him, if anybody ever breaks into your house at night, if there is no body, there is no crime to investigate.

Not advocating the tactic. Just demonstrating the mindset of some of the Deputies around here. And Deputies with this type of mindset are not the LEOs I want to have my life depend on.

If someone attempts to break into my house, I will call my friends. Either the scumbag makes it into my house where I will be waiting to defend myself from his attack, or he doesn't and is apprehended outside my house and held until the Police can get around to coming for him.
