Here we go: Newsom publicly proposes 2A Constitutional Amendment

Looks like he's trying to set the stage for a presidential run?

You can almost guarantee he will sign any and all legislation here in CA restricting more of our 2A rights.

Snip: "The Democratic governor's proposed 28th Amendment would not abolish the Second Amendment, which establishes a right to bear firearms for personal self-defense. However, it would raise the federal minimum age to purchase a firearm from 18 to 21; mandate universal background checks to purchase firearms; institute a waiting period for all gun purchases; and ban "assault weapons."

Newsom's proposed amendment would also affirm that Congress, states and local governments can enact additional gun control measures."

California Gov. Gavin Newsom is proposing a 28th Amendment to the Constitution that would curb gun rights without abolishing the Second Amendment.

Why people just don't look at someone's past job performance before they vote always amazes me. So he helped further destroy San Francisco, He's helped further destroy California and then people will vote for him so he can help continue to destroy the country?

We haven't even recovered from the last ammo/firearms/reloading supply hit. Here we go again.

You nailed it. He figures that if Biden is dissuaded from running he will be a shoo-in for the nomination. He also figures that the position is not so extreme that he can't win the General.

I can't imagine voting for that piece of trash.

Maybe it?s because I?ve been calling him and every other legislator in the state reminding them they have NO AUTHORITY to regulate the 2A, because the 10A doesn?t allow it.

So now he sees the hurdle, States have few rights to regulate the 2A other than to designate ?Sensitive Places?.
He?s not only talking ether 2A, the 10A is the separation of powers between the Federal and State governments.
So, like every Socialist Democrat, when you are going to lose the game, change the rules, or rewrite them entirely to suit your wants and needs.
This shows that Gavin Newsom should never be elected to a higher office.

We need a 29th Amendment to limit stupid politicians who don't know the Constitution.

A constitutional amendment? Yeah, 3/4 of our state legislatures are sure to go for this.

Such grandstanding with no expectation of delivery. Kinda all these people do nowadays. Reminds me of the trillions in reparations that are being called for.
