A detailed list of the stolen items would help as much as help can go. Break-ins are becoming too common lately; our sympathies go out to your friend. Unfortunately I'm not local to Ventura, so there's not much I could do to help personally. Other Calgunners will be along soon to try to help best they can.

    Good luck resolving the situation.

Sorry to hear that. I'm up in the Sacramento area so not much I can do.
They must have been pretty good to get into a locked gunsafe.

Exactly what I was thinking, but since the word "safe" is NOT in his description of what happened then it would seem he had the unsecured inside his home.

unfortunately, most stolen guns are sold black market. post a list just in case someone is stupid enough to try to sell legit.

If you can post a detailed list, wit serial numbers, that may help.
Also, were the firearms secured in a gun safe?

UPDATE: detailed partial list (the rest of the damage has not been assesed yet)

& YES, they were in a gun safe, but the crooks had time & it did not stop them- inginuity & brute force!

              1) GSG-5L- German Sports Guns, Germany, H&K MP5 clone in .22LR, 10-round magazine. . S/N: A28979* (2009, New) Black

              2) Remington 870 "Home Defense", Madison, N.C., 7-round tubular magazine, black synthetic stock & foregrip S/N: 261983* (2005)

              3) Rock Island Armory 1911A1, Armscor Precision Int'l- Pahrump, NV, 8-round magazine, 5" bbl, S/N: RIA111539* (2008, New) Parkerized

I guess I can't post photo's yet (or don't know how). They look the same as the stock photo's from Google images as they are not modified at all!

Plus they destroyed a nice 30-30, beating a masterlock off the back gate with it & left that here!

Sorry to hear that Larry. Is that the final list or are there more guns missing? If you already have the photos up on Google, post the link. Once I have that, I will print those out for my local gun stores & ranges.

You would have to be a total dumbass to not have a gun safe, especially in California in this day & age. Sorry, I don't associate myself with dumbasses, even suggesting that was the case, hints greatly to your own complete ignorance!!!

Sounds like ainside job if they hit a second safe at another location.

Another reason to keep lips sealed about firearms collections.

Good luck on recovery we will keep an eye out.

I know people who own firearms and not a gun safe, I certainly would not describe them the way you have.

Ignorant of the details which you left to the imagination. I think your post has gone a little overboard.

In this day & age plenty of people do not properly protect themselves or their property, the question was legitimate.

You've posted here less than 7 times, nobody has a clue who you are much less who you associate with.

Hope that his insurance covers theft. Not a good time to start rebuilding with prices but still......new guns!
