Last I checked, it was difficult for you to have a reason good enough for Bill Gore to accept it. Has that changed? "For self defense" or "because I want to" should be all the reason we need.

Ok, time for me to read. Being a CCW is a major responsibility, I'd have to think very carefully before carrying. It seems like the situations where I could actually defend myself without going to prison are very limited.

Here is another video of Gore from yesterday. Notice at 2:10 in the video he clearly distinguishes himself from LA Sheriff as recognizing that gun retailers provide a valuable service to the community. This is in the face of Nathan Fletcher saying unequivocally that gun stores should be closed. Yeah he could be shall issue if he wanted but we could have a much worse sheriff in San Diego.
