    You can't take orders and process DROS without serial numbers. Gun stores cannot legally sell /DROS a gun that's not in its inventory.

    What planet if you've been buying guns on?

        Martin B Retting not doing any new business. If you DROS'd they'll let you pick it up by appointment after your 10 days are up, but no other type of transaction is allowed.

          It's called a soft dros and turners does it. Your 10 day wait starts when your firearm actually arrives to the store.

            Really? LMAO. Those are for guns Turners OWNS and has IN IT'S INVENTORY at it's Chino warehouse (its huge.. I've been there), not guns that the store does not own and are the property of and in the possession of a third party wholesale distributor or a manufacturer.

            They can sell you a gun that they dont have at the store (usually sale items)because it is at the warehouse where they HAVE POSSESSION OF / OWN IT and therefore have a serial number accessible in the Turners inventory system for the specific gun being sold to you. The gun gets to the store on the next delivery from the warehouse. No FFL can sell/DROS a new gun that has not been entered into its inventory books...that is an ATF requirement.

              Nice Shot Indoor Shooting Range in Redding (Shasta county) is open with a good supply of handgun ammo.

                  If they take orders, you then do the DROS when the gun comes in. Businesses need business and customers to not go bankrupt. That's not a hard concept.

                      Taking orders was not the issue...It happens all the time. It was the "soft DROS" two posters said could be done. Of course a business can take orders but I would strongly advise against taking orders without 100% of the purchase price paid up front.

                          what about if gun stores take phone orders and require a 100% deposit, then if the customer cancels, charge a 50% cancellation fee during this time.

                          that will make sure only those we really want guns will place orders and not any of these liberal hypocrites that only want a gun now even though they have been voting to ban them all this time.

                            Let me expand ... take deposits on guns not in inventory and yes that happens all the time.
                            Recall when Turners is now taking deposits on Colt Pythons! I personally paid a deposit on gun and had to wait 6 months until the gun was actually made. Make your reservation today.

                              To be fair, that's not what you originally said;

                              Placing orders and taking deposits on guns is a normal everyday gun-store activity. I just dont know that I would want to expose myself or my employees to potential infection to take orders. If I did, I would want deposits of 100% down.
