The only sanctuary our famous Sheriff Gore follows is the one for illegal aliens.

Scott Jones the CLEO of Sac County issues CCWs to pretty much anyone not prohibited from owning a gun and I assume "pro gun".

But to come out as a 2A "sanctuary" would be political suicide for him. Then when the next sheriff gets in, who knows what his stance on CCW's will be.

It wont work in Blue Counties.

Red ones should go for it though!

I think my Sheriff (Barnes) is more worried about whether he gets indicted than any of this stuff right now...

Won't happen in Santa Clara County. Lol. Also, the chief of police here doesn't think the public should be allowed to own AR-15 style rifles. Additionally, I read something about corruption in the department when it comes to issuing concealed carry permits as it is virtually impossible here.

Newsom signed a bill removing Posse Comitatus act. Think Democrats afraid some Sheriff somewhere might deputize their citizens? Kind of weird they did that since it hasn't been used in such a long time anyway.

Sheriff Don Barnes’ spokeswoman declined to say why county supervisors and the district attorney weren’t told of the scale of the issue sooner.

SB-192 repealed provisions in California law that had to do wilt Posse Comitus (probably misspelt that).

What it did was change the law so a person could not be charged with a crime if they refused an order by a law enforcement officer to assist with stopping a crime.

                        Examples:

Officer: “You, citizen! Hold this meth head down while I cuff him!”

Officer: “Help! My gun is out of ammo and the bad guy will kill me! Do something!”

Officer: “A prisoner escaped from jail. You will help me search this neighborhood for him.”

Refusing any of those orders would have been a crime before SB-192. Note there has to be an order by a police officer or CLEO for this to take effect.

This would prevent a Sheriff from throwing a blanket order over his county, but I don’t think it would apply to volunteers.
As long as men have tools and the knowledge to use them, they can never be completely disarmed. You would be amazed at what one can accomplish with some simple hand tools and a quiet place to work.
