Does anybody know what would be an acceptable method for fixing the stock of an AK underfolder in place? Does it need to be welded or can you for instance use a bolt through the underfolder mechanisim in the trunnion to lock the stock in place? You would have to field strip the reciever to get to the bolt to undo it. That way if you left this great state you could easily restore its function.

I would imagine if people are getting away with zip-tieing CAR stocks on their AR, I don't see why a bolt wouldn't suffice on the AK. That's how I was planning on doing mine. I was going to place the allen head close enough to the mechanism so it would be impossible to push the button in."If a man hasn't found something worth dying for, he isn't fit to live." - Martin Luther King Jr.

Mine is tack welded. There is a tiny spot weld connecting the pivot assembly to the left locking nut, on the inside, and completely covered (until you strip the rifle down). A less permanent method (bolt or a set pin screwed into the pivot assembly, to prevent the movement of the locking lugs) should be acceptable, too.Comment
