Are you using a quality M1A mag? Have you tried real Springfield Armory mags? You might be able to borrow one or two. There's a lot of crap M1A mags out there from USA & ProMag.

Are you shimming the mags in the magwell?

Are you using an Armalite upper, and is your bolt + carrier well lubricated?

How are you guys shimming the mags? I prefer using detachable mags without any evil features.

I dunno how folks are doing it, but just measure the diff btwn the width of the DPMS mag and an Armalite mag, divide by two, and put shim material in.

You could either put it on the sides of the magazine, or line the sides of the mag well (say, attached w/epoxy).

I'm thinking that aluminum low heat welding stuff of that epoxy at the bottom sides of the magwell and shave to fit.

All my mags are Springfield mag's (for my M25) I have 2 DPMS mags that don't feed right and 2 Armalite mags on back order. Tonite I JB welded a shim on each side of a springfield mag to see if I can get it to work. My next range trip is Monday. But sense this is the legal form, maybe we should start a new thread in the rifle form.

Like I said earlier, if you are still looking for a 308 receiver, there is one on consignment in Antioch, I think it was $375 striped. I did hold it to my upper when it came in (didn't get it shipped to the house) and it appeared to line up with the pin holes. I know mine did as I have fired mine.

I glued .125 O.D. stainless tubing into the grooves in the side of the mag with Loctite 380 (Black Max).

Off topic but it was Chrysler. Jeep was a division of American Motors until they were bought out.

I know it says armalite on it, Jeep is a division of the chevrolet co, that does'nt make a jeep a chevy. If anybodys gone this route already please let me know. I'm desperate for a AR .308. And don't think RRA will ever sell their .308 stripped receiver. Hope i'm wrong.

I want to have a letter that say's noway jose , so I can get this sick dream out of my head.
Actually, Jeep is a div of DialmerChrysler, and Chevrolet is a div of General Motors Corporation.

Now, both Chevrolet and Buick are divs of General Motors Corporation, so maybe that's what you're getting at...

However, both a Jeep and a Buick are indeed General Motors vehicles, the only difference is in marketing.

Sorry but even under Harrott the Eagle is not protected ;(

DOJ has written that they do consider an "Armalite" "AR-10" with an "Eagle Arms" monkier, to be an "Armalite AR-10" and a banned-by-name assault weapon.
