It's called the Grand Old Party(Waiting for libertarians and others to execrate me).
I don't think there's a guide persay; though I would certaintly be interested if there was.
We should compile an official Calguns 2A voting guide next election...maybe even this one if somebody has too much time on their hands.Freedom does not die alone -- Camus, Homage to an Exile
People generally quarrel because they cannot argue -- G.K. Chesterton
It is proper to take alarm at the first experiment on our liberties -- James Madison -
Well, just voting GOP isn't enough these days, especially in CA. In fact, in most cases I'd rather vote for the least radical candidate who has a decent record of protecting gun rights with common sense. Unfortunately we often have to choose between hippies and Bible thumpers, both on my ignore list.
I guess I need to do my homework again...--BrandoComment

Here is a guide that I got. I don't know if it is an official NRA product but I'm just posting here. NRA folks - shout if this is bad info and I'll remove/edit.
I'm surprised that Feinstein got an F. I would have invented a new letter for her.

Originally posted by ca_brit_05...* Although these candidates are unknown to the NRA, it can be safely assumed that the Democratic ones are anti-gun. If they weren't, they wouldn't have been endorsed by the local Democratic Party machine...
Of course, the failings of Koretz, Scott, etc are fair game, but I suggest it is less than helpful to insult Democrats en masse. Remember that Republicans own less than 40% of the legislature. That isn't enough to pass or stop anything except (maybe) supermajority (2/3) votes. That means EVERY victory we achieved this year in the legislature - defeating AB 352, SB 357, etc - passing AB 2111 and SB 1239 - ALL required significant support from Democrats.
To stop a bad bill, you have to stall the bill in a committeee or keep the bill from getting minimum 41 Yes votes in the Assembly or 21 Yes votes in the Senate. To pass a good bill, a bill has make it through all required Assembly & Senate committees *AND* get at least 41 Yes votes in the Assembly *AND* at least 21 yes votes in the Senate. Right now, we can't stop anything or pass anything without Democrat support because they own 60+% of everything.
NRA has been doing a great job communicating THE TRUTH ABOUT THESE BILLS to honest Democrats. That and our calls, letters, etc have made all the difference in 2006. We passed 2 pro-gun bills into law, the governor vetoed both anti-gun bills that got through and we prevented seven others from getting that far. THE ANTIS WERE SHUTOUT THIS YEAR while we made incremental progress. Anyone sense a corner turning?
Of course, I don't vote against NRA's preferences, but I also don't make blanket statements about any party. It's just not helpful.

Yeah, I'm in a bit of a dilemma, I'm gonna haf to vote for a Democrat.
My Assembly woman, Nicole Parra, voted "No" on AB 2714, SB 59 and AB 352. If you recall, AB 352 (Koretz) Microstamping was voted on about 7 times that last night. Parra voted no on AB 50, banning the .50 BMG which Arnold signed into law.
And "No" on AB 2728.
She appears to be pro gun
Yet she is a Democrat. A good one.

I've said it before, and gun owners should remember it.
There are many pro gun democrats.
Those that live in Cali, where we have so many demos, should understand this better than most. It is crucial, we do not offend these folk by generalizing about them.
We should not be calling gun grabbers "libs", "liberals", or "democrats".
We should be calling them what they are, "gun grabbers", maybe "tyrants" or other terms of your choosing.Comment

Pardon my ignorance(although accused of much worse) but how do I know which district I'm in to know who to vote for?
In any type of fight, & especially gun fights, there are no winners ..... just varying degrees of losers. The only fight you win is the one you never get into.
