Which is the best state to get CCW

You don't need to get a Pennsylavnia ccw if you have a Florida or New Hampshire ccw as Pennsylvania recognizes both!
FYI West Virginia now recognizes Florida Non-Resident ccw and will soon recognize Utah. They used to only recognize resident ccw, however that changed on 7/10/09.Comment

Just to clarify Kansas now(like WV) will accept non-resident reciprocal permits.
FL or UT are the way to go. UT is cheaper but you'll need to take a UT-certified course, FL accepts NRA classes.
The states with the best reciprocity, like MI and TN, universally recognize permits from all states. That should be a goal of all states to get max reciprocity.
PA and NH are easy but won't get nearly the coverage of the others.Comment

Q: When you applied for a Pennsylvania CCW, what county did you approach?
Not all of them seem to do it by mail.

Well, I took it upon myself to call a random PA county's sherrif's office that a) had a history of issuing out of state CCWs and b) had some information online about applying for a non resident CCW.
I settled on Centre County:
As I suspected, CA is considered an "issuing" state so you MUST have a CCW from your home state in order to apply. Even if no-one is issued a CCW in your home county (like SF for example), you are doubly screwed [no CA CCW, no PA CCW].
Oh well, if this had worked, this would have been a super economical option.

WA non-resident: gets you 18 states = $55 but must apply in person.
I originally thought that you could combine this with the NH non-resident CCW application for $20 more (just paperwork, no course) but apparently, the cost has just jumped to $100 effective July 1st. That would have been cost effective to add another 8 states (10 minus CO and FL who do NOT honor non-resident CCW licenses)....
I fly to WA for work so this may be something to consider. Thanks for the heads up, Glock30!
Now, is anyone else awrea of other minimal fuss non-resident CCW issuing states?
Ideally, I would like coverage in TX, NV, and CO as these are the states I visit most regularly but seeing as how CO does not honor non-resident CCW permits and NV allows LOC, this may be more of a thought exercise vs. anything else for me personally.
