As much as I loathe CA gun laws, I think prosecuting him will only help us.

Folks might start wondering why semi-auto rifles are illegal.

Wow, those people actually believe that garbage enough to bring in one of their own? I bet pushing over an old lady in a wheelchair doesn't bother their conscience either, then.

Not that it has anything to do with this case, but some of them would cite her for loitering afterwards too! Never understood that going out of your way to persue or prosecute something that isn't really on your watch.

The pilot is a civilian employee and still on his probationary period... he's fired for sure, prosecuted or not.

I haven't heard any source inside or close by say what the weapon was. There has been speculation that it was Class 3, hence the mention of potential federal charges, or so some of the local rumor mongering goes. Considering that the SoCo DA prosecuted a Rohnert Park officer and a Santa Rosa fire guy (formerly with Rohnert Park) for possession of Class 3 last year under the Penal Code, rather than give them to the feds, it leaves a lot open to supposition.

Looks like he recently left Maui Chopper:

Betting it is an OLL, but if he is a recent transplant to California.... who knows.

Were they the two guys that were under investigation for alleged unregistered MG's, that when raided had demilled parts?
The way some gunshop clerks spout off, you'd think that they invented gunpowder and the repeating rifle, and sat on the Supreme Court as well.
