      Exactly my point.

I posted this in response to this link posted on another site.

"Is this guy legit? I know it's coming but this link is to one of dozens from the same author and he's a bit hokey!

If you GOOGLE "obama ban list" the first several webpage results ALL take you to different websites from the same source dating back in to December/January....has to make you wonder how valid....or propagandist it is, doesn't it?"

That was HR 1022 from last year, which is pretty much identical to AWB legislation introduced every year since the Federal AWB expired in 2004. It didn't get any traction last year and there isn't any evidence that it will get any this year (although someone will almost certainly introduce some AWB bill at some point). Articles like that one on InfoWars are just a way to get people scared and pissed off; when there's something specific to worry about you'll hear about it.

The only draconian gun legislation introduced thus far is HR 45, which has no co-sponsors and approximately zero chance of going anywhere. In other words, that will be the topic for the next Chicken Little infowars article.

          HAWK1,

I guess I should have better made my point....I was just cruising the internet stopping in at all the forums I traffic and I found like three different listings TODAY with this article....and all of them seem hook, line, and sinker because the date is just today and yesterday on this article.

This, like DR ROCKSO said, pisses people off and starts paranoia.

I figured there was something that started Korwin on his rampage again.

Well, let's give Korwin a little credit; it's useful to rampage if it gets people involved.

The problem with this particular version is that it gets picked up repeatedly by new groups. Even if the original had been dated, by now someone would have forwarded a version without that line, and lots of folks don't read those anyway. So many people simply don't know that the article is well-known already, and feeling like public spirited citizens, post to let us know.

What's the line from LOTR? "You ... do but pay the penalty of your watchfulness..." - if you were not already well-informed, this thing might be news; since you are, it's same-old, same-old.

As annoying as that sometimes gets, we're better off that people see and post and ask and know. More people with awareness and correct information is a Good Thing.

I wouldn't trust Alex Jones any farther than I could throw Rosie O'donnell.
The way some gunshop clerks spout off, you'd think that they invented gunpowder and the repeating rifle, and sat on the Supreme Court as well.

Alex is not that far off base. You guys need to wake up on what is really happening to this country. We are on a sinking ship with no buckets to bail out the water.

I rather doubt it's harmful. It would only be harmful if anti's were doing everything in their power to allay our fears and they are not doing that (There is no indication that any anti-gun politician has changed their position, so we know preference vs intent. If a politician did more than adopt a less militant anti-gun position and actually made an effort to appear pro-gun I would be alarmed). I hope they keep introducing legislation like this and I hope that anti-gun politicians and bureaucrats keep up their rhetoric.

Unlike '94, few gun owners believe that any particular group is immune to gun control legislation. I think we'll back each other much better now (it helps that many evil black rifles have become more popular as hunting weapons).

I think it will take a long time for paranoia to wear off.
